Olá e Bem Vindos!

Hello and welcome!

First of all we would like to thank you very much for taking the time to visit our blog! We hope you find it interesting, whether you’ve just stumbled across it or you’re checking to make sure that we’re still alive!

Our names are Isabelle Vaudrey and Grace Osbourne.

We are two students at the University of Lincoln, about to enter are third and final year in Conservation and Restoration (BA).  As part of our course we are required to gain a minimum of six weeks work experience in a professional conservation environment.

After watching a presentation by former University of Lincoln student, Anna de Matos about her placement at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, we decided to apply for work experience at the museum.

The museum were keen to take on students, so with the help of Anna, the faculty at the University of Lincoln, the staff at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo and, of course, the financial support of the ZGTF, our work experience placements in Brazil will go from being a fanciful idea to an exciting reality in September 2013!

We will be working at The Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo for six weeks from 9th September.  Issy will be completing a placement in the conservation of sculptures, while Grace will be undertaking a placement in the conservation of easel paintings.

We will use this blog to document our work and adventures in São Paulo for ourselves, our families and friends, and for anybody else who is interested in what we’re getting up to!

If you have any questions about our experiences at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, with the ZGTF, or on our course at the University of Lincoln, please feel free to contact us!
