The Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo is one of Brazil’s most prestigious art museums, The Pinacoteca holds a wide ranging collection of Brazilian art, it was established as a state museum in 1911 and houses a collection of over 9000 artworks, largely paintings that span from the late 19th century to present day. The museum is of national importance for its collection of pieces by significant Brazilian artists such as Antonio Rocco and Almeida Júnior.
